Weekend getaway with dog

Van der Valk Hotel Groningen - Hoogkerk

In our hotel, where hotel dogs are allowed, we warmly welcome your faithful four-legged friend in the lobby, bar/brasserie, and on the terrace. Unfortunately, other pets are not allowed in our hotel. For guests with a (service) dog, we offer the possibility to have à la carte lunch and dinner in our cozy brasserie. In other public areas, such as the restaurant, wellness, and meeting floor, dogs are not allowed, except for guide and/or service dogs.

Upon request and for an additional fee, there are some specially designated hotel rooms available where dogs are allowed. We kindly ask that dogs are always kept on a leash and do not cause a nuisance to other guests. .
Note: It is not allowed to bring your dog into the breakfast room/lunch buffet area!

Furthermore, we have established a number of house rules to make your stay and the stay of our other guests as pleasant as possible.

  • If you bring your dog(s) to our hotel, you must indicate this when making your reservation. We have a limited number of rooms where pets are allowed. These are assigned by our reception staff;

  • Bringing a dog during an overnight stay in our hotel incurs a surcharge of € 33.00 per night.

  • We impose a maximum of two pets per room;

  • In the hotel, in the restaurant, in the bar/brasserie, on the terrace, and the parking lot, dogs must always be leashed;

  • Dogs are not allowed to sit on our hotel beds and armchairs;

  • For damages to the interior, the dog owner will be held liable for repair costs;

  • It is not allowed to leave your dog alone in the hotel room when you are not present in the hotel. When using the restaurant, breakfast room, bar/brasserie, or meeting accommodation and you leave your dog in the room, you must inform the reception. This way, we can reach you in case of noise disturbance;

  • Check before entering the restaurant if your dog is dry and does not leave mud trails;

  • Make sure your dog listens and is not a nuisance to other guests. Not everyone likes dogs and finds even a friendly dog greeting too much;

  • Never let your dog lie loose or walk around the restaurant. Make sure your dog stays leashed and lies under the table;

  • Do not let your dog “share” the meal at the table or under the table;

  • Dogs are not allowed in the breakfast room;

  • When we have to compensate other guests due to disturbances caused by your pet, these costs will be charged to the dog owner;

  • We reserve the right to charge extra cleaning costs in case of excessive soiling of the room;

  • In case of persistent noise disturbance, for example, barking, we reserve the right to remove the dog from the hotel. Removal due to disturbance does not entitle a refund.

Finally, we would like to give you the following tip: Make sure your dog stays under the table during your stay in our restaurant, does not cause a disturbance, and behaves like a true “table companion.” Then other guests will not have any complaints, and we can continue to welcome four-legged friends in the future. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
